The experienced and professional staff is available to provide information at your request to assist you in understanding funeral arrangements, choosing a funeral home and making funeral arrangements in advance or estate planning the pre-arranged funeral.

The Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home is everything you would expect in a funeral home and more. We have established trust in our local community by providing you with the personalized service you and your family deserve. Why is this so unique? Because we don't stop there. Our History

We have been serving the Maine community for over 115 years. We are also members in good standing of The Maine State Funeral Directors Association (http://www.mefda.org) and the National Funeral Director Association (http://www.nfda.org) .

Our Staff

Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home is a family run business and we are here for you...just as we have been, one family at a time, since 1890. Our funeral home is run under the directorship of Robert D. Pate and James T. Pate.

James T. Pate

James Pate has been a licensed funeral director in the State of Maine since 1987. Jim was born in Maine attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy. He received degrees in Finance and Management from Bentley College and later graduated with honors from New England institute of Applied Arts and Science. He has worked at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home since 1986.

He has lived in Saco all his life and has been active with the Dyer Library as Past President of the Board of Trustees and Present chairman of the Building and Grounds. A past member and President of the Saco Historical Commission. A Charter member of the Saco Bay Rotary Club and a member of the Saco Little League and various youth hockey associations. Present Treasurer and Past Master of the Saco Masonic Lodge and various fund raising and Alumnae events for Thornton Academy.

James resides in Saco with his wife Lisa and 2 children Jonathan and Katherine. He enjoys spending time with this family and traveling.

Chad Poitras

Chad Poitras is a licensed funeral director at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home. He attended Buxton schools and is a graduate of Bonny Eagle High School. He is also a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and Point Park College in Pittsburgh PA.

Chad is an active officer in Buxton Masonic Lodge #115 and Pleasant River Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a noble in Kora Shrine Temple, a member of the Buxton/Hollis Historical Society, a member of the Buxton Ancient Cemetery Committee, and a member of the Maine Old Cemetery Association, Board of Directors - South Buxton Cemetery, Waterboro Association of Businesses and Freedon Masonic Lodge #42 AF & AM in Limerick. Chad was a member of the former Adoniram Masonic Lodge #27 AF & AM in Limington.

He enjoys outdoor activities including hunting and fishing, woodworking, restoring military vehicles and tractors, participating in local parades, and volunteering with various community organizations. He is married to his wife Cheryl Poitras, they have a son, Mathieu.
